What a magnificent find! Earlier this week I was so thrilled to find 2 RARE antique French Blackamoor figures, both in superb condition, and both compliments to one another. I'm listing the first here, the other will also be listed for sale separately, but you're probably right that they beg to be on the same desktop. We're still offering them separately, however. This one is a MOST RARE treasure to offer: a large tole painted blackamoor figural double ink stand, one of the rarest forms these were made in. The soulful and large ebony figure, the Blackamoor, holds the 2 ink pots in perpetuity, beautifully and gracefully seated on the raised plinth, and accented in colorful capri pants. NOT to be mistaken for the many reproductions of this type of very rare item, the one you see here is authentic c. 1840-60s and is absolutely guaranteed rare and antique. I can't tell you how seldom I see these fine old French blackamoor items, and how pricey they have become on the collectors' market. Don't miss this one. It will be a lifetime before you'll see one again.

Very good to excellent, age and type considered. Very light loss to painted surface, in keeping with the type. The glass ink inserts are no longer with this one but are simple to replace if you wish to actually use it. A magnificent and RARE find. The complimenting card holder is sold separately. You'll probably want them both!
