RARE ANTIQUE FRENCH EMPIRE LIQUOR TANTALUS, 2 DECANTERS
Absolutely stunning & rare antique French 1860-1900 Napoleon III to Belle Epoch era Empire style liquor tantalus, a two decanter set with gilt dore bronze base and two marvelous Baccarat cut crystal decanters! Museum quality, one of the finest Empire style liquor pieces we've had and, as you can see, this one is in nearly pristine condition! Standing a total of 10 5/8" tall, it's as impressively sized as it is detailed. Heavy gilded bronze base and collars, not the later, thinner ormolu casings that we often see. The bottles are works of art themselves, in thick unmarked but surely Baccarat crystal with very unique shaping and crisp wheel cut bevels at the base of the necks! The solid facet cut stoppers shimmer like diamonds, truly a magnificent set!
Excellent condition. A few light surface scratches on the sides of the bottles, from sliding in and out of the base, and there is one chip to the very top of one stopper. No breaks or repairs to the bronze base fitting. See pictures for measurements.

Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is recieved (except when special circumstances exist). We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built.
