Up for auction is this beautiful original condition Ithaca Model #4-1/2 'FAVORITE' Double Dial Calendar Clock.
It has it's original 8 day Time and Strike spring wound E N Welch MFG CO movement, as well as its original H B Horton Perpetual Calendar Clock Mechanism. The clock runs well, and the calendar changes properly. I have owned this clock for many years and have run it from time to time. As I have not had the clock serviced, I am selling it 'as is'. It will be well packed, but may require minor adjustments after shipping.
The case is Walnut with Ebony trim and an Ebony carved mask. The finish is original. The dial pans and rollers maintain their original paper dials. The lower dial boasts 'L B & MFG" "MFG for the Favorite Calendar Clock Co" with patent dates of 1865 and 1866. The pendulum and labels are original as well.
The original front tablet has "FAVORITE" in gold leaf across it.
The dials have nickel plated rims that match the nickel plated pendulum. The paper dials are a little dirty but original. The labels are excellent.
Although this clock is not mint, it is in very very nice original, untouched condition. I am sure that you will be pleased to own this rare double dial clock!

On Nov-11-09 at 17:19:17 PST, seller added the following information:After taking the pictures for this listing, I reassembled the clock and set it to running. Although the time and strike work great, I noticed that the calendar has not advanced. It was working prior to this. I do not work on calendar mechanisms and am selling this clock "as is"as previously stated in the listing. It still remains to be a very attractive clock. I can only wonder if I knocked something out of synch when I took the dials and backboard off.
