Report itemA very rare TWA poster! Have you seen this one before? Vintage and authentic original, excellent condition. Here is a beautiful TWA travel poster titled FLY TWA and GERMANY. Marked with the artist "William Ward Beecher" and "LITHO IN U.S.A. - 1016". Circa around 1950. Measures 40" x 25". This is a rare TWA travel poster, being that it might be the only poster work done by the famous artist William Ward Beecher, now deceased. The image is a great example of his work known for eye-catching perspectives. Google his name if you are not familiar with the artist. The more common TWA posters were done by David Klein. Overall condition is excellent, especially for a 1950s-60s vintage poster. No folds, repairs, or missing pieces. Colors are strong with no fading. No mildew or odors. Minor defects that I see are thumbtack holes in four corners, upper left corner small crease, very very slight wrinkles on a few inch area on the upper left edge, left edge approx one inch horizontal tear. Otherwise really excellent condition and sharp edges. The horizontal white reflection lines (through TWA and the clock) and any other glare spots in the picture are reflections and NOT poster discolorations. This is really a great looking poster, it would look awesome framed on display. Details include a cuckoo clock on a wall with a butterfly and window with open shutters framing the distant landscape and a TWA Constellation in the background. These posters were collected back in the day by an elderly couple I knew who liked to travel. These items come from their estate, that's why I know they are vintage. The posters were displayed at some point, then safely stored away in a tube since then. Please see my other items for more authentic TWA travel posters by Klein, Beecher, and Briggs.
