SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS.

This is one of the few extant copy of this Masonic journal. Although The Library of Congress and The Smithsonian list Ante-bellum issues these are not there. Scarce Masonic journal issued out of Springfield, Illinois. Issued on the 15th of each month. The item being offered is a bound volume containing a complete run of 30 issues from Volume 3 #1 (January 15, 1864) to Volume 5 #6 (June 15.1866) Issues measure 8-3/4" by 11-3/4". 480 Pages. A superior collection of articles, letters (including Masonic soldiers engaged in the Civil War), announcements, local and national lodge news, editorials, obituaries and advertisements. Stamp of former owner fep; light foxing throughout; issues are in Very Good condition. Exterior spine edges and corners are extensively rubbed not affecting the issues contained inside.
