BUDDY EBSEN. Immortal Star of Screen, Stage and Television.

Buddy Ebsen is perhaps best-known in modern times for his role as Jed Clampett in the hit TV series The Beverly Hillbillies. Also as roles as Davy Crockett's sidekick George Russel, and as Barnaby Jones, the famous detective.

Original photographs from the 1936 Shirley Temple film "Captain January"

Here we are offering a very rare, and unique set of original photographs from the film "Captain January" that were in the personal archives of Buddy Ebsen for years. This collection consists of 41 photos, all are 4" x 5" in size unless otherwise indicated. I have made scans of them all, and have presented them to you here. All are in very good condition. Three of them are 3-9/16" x 5-3/16" in size, one is an 8" x 10" and looks like a print done much later. It comes in a metal black frame, not shown. It was in Buddy's collection so will include it here. There is also a long photo article from the Kansas City Star newspaper from 1936, shown here, which is included. The original addressed and dated mailing envelope which had the photos in it is also included, with Buddy Ebsen's name and address on it from 20th Century Fox, as shown.

Some of the photos have our "Phantom Bookshop Ebay Photo" impression on them, and these are not on the original photos.

Needless to say, these photographs are quite rare, probably only one of a kind. Take a look at some of them. Have you ever seen them in the film? On the envelope it is indicated that these photos of Shirley Temple and Buddy Ebsen have never been seen.

This is a true chance to get a piece of history, from one of the most memorable and wonderful dance scenes ever put on film. Arguably the best dance scene of its type in film history.
