RARE Celtic Spearhead 500/100 BC

This is a rare item from 500-100BC...a Celtic Spearhead recovered from the wet soils of Southern Germany and part of a collection we recently started to buy. What makes it rare is that it was ritually bent showing that it was grave-goods. This is the same thing the Vikings did when burying one of their warriors and often a double bend as in this classic example.

The material loss of metal is to be expected from 2,000+ years in the wet soils of Europe & the History Channel has a one hour documentary of the Vikings and which shows a large number of their weapons recovered including many that were ritually bent. They also have a one hour documentary of the surprisingly large area conquered by the celts and their weapons & cultural artifacts. Unfortunately we have no ability to understand the Celts via their writing as they were people with an oral tradition so their artifacts are even more important
