Up for auction is this very rare and superior performing Couesnon Piccolo trumpet. The Couesnon company has gained a very positive reputation for brass instrument manufacturing. Most well known for their flugelhorns and piccolo trumpets Couesnon based in France has always been very well respected. This particular instrument surpasses the very good reputation of Couesnon's piccolo trumpets. It happens to be the first four valve piccolo I have ever seen. The three valve Monopole Piccolo has a very loyal following among professional musicians that are familiar with the horn. The positive attributes that go hand in hand with the three valve piccolos are their intonation, even feel, and huge sound. I have been told by several musicians in the past with three valve horns that we've had that the instrument feel as easy to play as the mid range on a standard Bb trumpet. It is because of the excellent intonation with the three valve versions that I didn't suspect a four valve horn was ever in production. After coming across this instrument I have been floored. This horn available for bidding displays all of the points mentioned with the three valve version and more. This horn plays very well in tune, and with the added advantage of the fourth valve I do not know how it could get any better! As you can see in the pictures below, this instrument is in excellent original condition. It does not show signs of ever being mistreated. The valves are in excellent condition and are tight. We have given this horn an ultrasonic and chemical treatment, and the valves have been aligned. This is a professional level horn, and with the quality of craftsmanship would compare to new instruments that sell for $3000 and more. This would make for an ideal piccolo trumpet for a musician of any level. Our reserve is very low considering the fact that this is so rare. Take advantage of bidding while you can!
