RESERVE  www.treasurehuntunlimited.com  Up for your consideration is a very scarce 16s Elgin WW2 model wind indicator 21j/5pos pocket watch, circa 1940. Four star watch = 100 produced. All original. One of the rarest watches I have ever owned. No Reserve!  This is the start of my annual fall auctions of Railroad Grade pocket watches and other fine timepieces. I have been saving up all year putting away some real gems for this sale. Some great surprises are coming including investment grade Hamilton, Illinois, Ball & other fine & rare railroad watches. Also coming is the most scarce Illinois every made the infamous "163 Type II" of which only 50 were produced & only 8 known to survive & this one is investment grade!! So, now through the holidays keep checking my auctions & see what is new. All just starting at $9.95 with no reserve!  One of the scarcest of all Elgins! Shugart's list this watch as only 100 produced, $4,000 - $8,500. Marked U.S. Army BWR Wind Indicator with sweep/hack seconds. I have researched this watch & have turned up nothing, not even another photo of one. This watch was produced for only one year, 1940.  Fantastic wind indicator "GCT" dial. 24 hour dial with 60 minute outer track ring. Just a cool looking dial.  Close-up of this rare marked "GCT" (Greenwich Civil Time) dial with sweep seconds. Excellent condition. No hairlines...  Beautiful blue hands are excellent & are always a pleasure to look at.  The original nickel case has full Army Ords.  The photo makes it tough to read, although faint, you can read it easily in person. AC 263 (in the triangle) / US Army AC / Watch Navigation / Masters / Type A-13 Ser. no 41-1699 / Ord No. 42-805-P / Spec. No 94-27968 / MFGRS Part No 1767 / Elgin  There is some pitting to the case & bow as seen in the photos.  Case is marked Illinois Watch Case Co / Elgin / Nickel.  B.W. Raymond 21 jewel wind indicator movement. My watchman said it might be a 22 jewel. There could be a jewel on the back of the movement that the center sweep second shaft rotates in.  Very clean 16s 21j /5pos movement is stem wind & lever set. Movement is running fine & has excellent motion. Movement has not been serviced or timed. This does have the hack seconds feature.  Just a few close ups to show you the condition of this fine movement.  No problems with this movement...  Marked Elgin ~ B.W. Raymond ~ U.S. Army A.C. ~ 21 Jewels ~ adjusted 5 positions & temperature ~ serial number 39516430 dates this to 1940. Remember this is a 4 Star watch with 100 produced for only one year. $4,000 - $8,500 book price! Don't let this one slip by, you may never see another one again. This is all original & starting at just $9.95 with no reserve! Of Special Note: If you are using an older copy of Shugart's book, throw it away & get the 2009 copy. Prices are considerably higher, as much as $1000! You really don't want to miss out on these watches by underbidding using an old book & regretting in later, which you will, because you will not find nicer examples of these railroad watches, period. What else can I say? These will be the nicest examples of pocket watches you will find on Ebay or the internet. I take great pride in my watches & promise these will be the crown jewels in your collection. Photos should tell the rest of the story.
