THIS IS A RARE AND BEAUTIFUL GERMAN SOLID SILVER AND COBALT GLASS OPEN SALT CELLAR.  THIS PIECE IS MARKED SILVER "800" AND "GERMANY" CIRCA 1885-1910.  THIS OVAL SALT HAS AN ORNATE SOLID SILVER HOLDER THAT FEATURES REPOUSSE WINGED CHERUBS RIDING A DOLPHIN ON EACH SIDE.  EACH END HAS THE SCENE OF REPOUSSE FLORALS AND WINE GOURDS.  IT SITS ON FLARED FEET DECORATED WITH FLORALS AND FILIGREE.  THIS EXCEPTIONAL PIECE IS 1 1/2" TALL AND IS 3 1/4" LONG.  SILVER WEIGHT WITHOUT THE LINER IS TWO FULL OUNCES.  CONDITION IS EXCELLENT WITH NO CHIPS OR CRACKS TO THE LINER AND EXCELLENT SILVER QUALITY WITH NO DINGS OR DENTS.  A RARE FIND.
