RARE GLOBE WERNICKE STACK DESK LEGS MOUNTING BRACKETS!!

For those of you who are Globe Wernicke/Macey stack barrister legal bookcase collectors, restorers and fans these are EXACTLY what you need to finish detailing your bookcase desk units. This auction is for 2 (two) matching pair bookcase desk leg mounting hardware assemblies. I have seen many ways in which people have tried to cobble attaching the legs of the desk to the unit once the hardware has been lost. The most common is giant wood screw and nails. None of these provide the stability required to secure the legs properly to the underside of the desk unit. I have gone to considerable expense, time and effort to have these produced again. These are very difficult to produce. First the original thickness gauge material had to be located. This is then cut to dimensional size and bent into a "Z" bracket matching the original shapes exactly. Then the counter sunk holes for the screw are drilled and finally the rounded corners are done by hand. The set comes with 4 correct brackets and two correct (to original) mounting wood screws. Given that these are not massed produced each bracket has small variations in finish but the overall size and hole placement is absolutely exacting to the originals. Once you place these into the slots at the back of your desk legs and anchor the wood screw in the exiting hole in your desk the installation just takes a few minutes and appears completely authentic when installed (see last photo on the left). This is the only way to go to secure your legs for proper desk functioning and to protect the investment value of your stack. Any other form of attachment fails over time and lacks significant structural integrity for strength. These are matched from an original master set. I offer these only occasionally as my master cabinet maker will only produce the accompanying legs when things are slow. At this offering I only will have a few sets to sell, then no more for another year or more.  I have had many calls for these in the past and they went for high prices to discriminating restorers. These are the only ones ever offered on eBay!  See my other ad on eBay for the leg assemblies (see photos on right).
