RARE HUGE c1920 ROYAL DUX MAJOLICA BOY ON DONKEY FIGURE
A MOST IMPRESSIVE PIECE FROM VERY IMPORTANT ESTATE N/Rs
WOW what do I say ? This is one of the most impressive figures I have sold in a very long time, and quite possibly the most important piece of Royal Dux I have ever owned. This beauty comes from a very large and important estate that we have been selling from for some time now and was proudly displayed on the fireplace mantle in their formal dining room. It is a very large figure measuring approx 15-1/2" tall and 11" across from horse's nose to tail, in excellent condition, the only thing I would note is a few glaze flaws that were done in manufacturing and he appears to be missing the horse's reigns, probably just a strip of leather that ran through the horse's nose and through the young man's hands, very easy to replace and it displays wonderfully as it stands. The base is marked Royal Dux Made in Czechoslovakia and I believe would date to the 1920's, but possibly earlier. There are NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR REPAIRS and the glaze flaws to the donkey should in now way affect the value. Sorry for the high shipping price, it is very large and will require a large box for safe shipping. We try to always quite 20% less than actual cost, and if we over charge on this figure we will make a refund to the high bidder. This is part of the best estate we have handled in years. We make great effort to accurately describe each item listed. Returns are accepted, if either condition, country of origin or dating is significantly incorrect. Hence, have an expected amount of wear from normal use. As such, returning an item because we failed to mention the tiniest bit of wear, or barely discernible flaw is not acceptable. Nor do we accept returns based on buyer's remorse, change of taste, or because a buyer did not realize how "small" four inches might be once in hand. Also all returns must be posted within 3 days of delivery confirmation.
