SUPER RARE
IBM "Industrial" Model M Keybaord
p/n 1390653, circa 1988
Own a piece of Cold-War history! This keyboard dates back from the last days of the Reagan administration! When this keyboard was being cranked out of the factory, Rick Astley's Together Forever was at the top of Billboard charts. No kidding.
The buckling spring mechanism in action. Thing of beauty, isn't it?This Model M masterpiece is the "clicky" style buckling-spring
keyboard. It is identical in every regard to the standard Model M in weight,
feel, and construction; the only difference is that the outer case is molded in
dark gray as opposed to the tan/putty of a standard Model M. These gray ones are
almost impossible to find in the wild--this particular example is distinguished by the old rectangular IBM logo in the upper-right corner. It also comes with a super-duper long cable.
How often do you get the chance to own a living, breathing, functional piece
of computer history--a computing device almost 20 years old and it
still works every bit as good as it did when it rolled off the line?
Yes, it works as magnificently as it ever did, feels just as good under
your fingers as it ever did, and it's still every bit as noisy as it
ever was.
Buy my keyboard
and you'll be driving your cubicle-mates up the wall in no time flat!
PLEASE READ BEFORE
BIDDING:
-
Please do not ask me to end the
auction early. I will not.
-
Please do not bid if you live outside
the United States. I will not ship overseas. Period. If you don't do eBay
for a living, shipping overseas is a huge pain in the ass. Don't even ask me
to do it.
-
Please do not bid if you have a user
ID less than 30 days old and/or less than five (5) positive feedback. If you
do, your bid will be canceled.
-
The item in this auction is an
electronic item and is therefore sold AS-IS. Even thought the unit
has been tested and has been found to be in working order, the seller makes
absolutely no warranty on the unit, express or implied. If you do not know
what AS-IS means, do not bid.
-
Payment is due within 72 hours (3
days) of auction close. If you do not submit payment in full within 72 hours
of the auction close, the seller reserves the right to create a voodoo doll in your approximate likeness and proceed to stick pins in it until you scream in exquisite agony or are, at the very least, mildly uncomfortable. Then he will leave negative feedback about you, file a Non-Paying Bidder report with eBay, and say horrible things about you to anybody who will listen. The seller further retains the right to keep the voodoo doll of your approximate likeness for up to one (1) year, and stick a pin in it every now and again, thus painfully reminding you that stiffing people on eBay is not a very good idea. So there.
