Offered for auction is this very rare tankard made to celebrate the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977. This one was made in the Isle of Man by Rushton Pottery. One was given to every school child on the Island at the time.
The front is decorated with both the Queen and Prince Philip along with the floral emblems of the United Kingdom. The back however, is hand engraved and painted with the emblem for the Isle of Man - the famous three legs of Man. Both top and bottom of the tankard are silvered.
This rare commemorative piece is 5" high and is finely crazed all over and the handle has been repaired near the bottom. Apart from that, there is no other damage.
