This listing is for an extremely RARE SPECIMEN! Translucent Calcite Crystals cover a gray rock matrix, and most of the Calcites are overcoated with Drusy Titanite! Some collectors may be more familiar with the name Sphene, which is the common name for the gemstones cut from this mineral. Occuring in shades of green, yellow, and reddish-brown, larger crystals and cut stones have an unusual lustre sometimes referred to as resinous. The drusy titanite on this specimen show amazing iridescence, sparkling in shades of olive green, gold and burnished orange. About half a dozen of the frosty calcite crystals occur on top of this iridescent drusy, providing a very striking contrast in color and texture. This is an exceptional specimen of a very rare material, highly collectible, and beautiful as well. It comes with an intricately carved base of Asian design, quite fitting for a specimen from China!
