RARE LARGE ANTIQUE GERMAN FIGURAL MAJOLICA WALL PLAQUE
LISTING MORE RARE PIECES OF ANTIQUE MAJOLICA ALL NO RES
This is an excellent antique German figural Majolica wall plaque with raised design and a figure of a gentleman in the center, all in beautiful colors as seen in the photos. This beauty sticks out 1-3/4'' from the wall and measures 12-1/4'' across the top, a nice large size for display. The is very minor glaze wear to the high spots consistent with the age, any flaws seen in the blue in the photos were simply dirt and have been removed, really overall amazing condition for the age with NO CHIPS CRACKS OR REPAIRS ! The plaque is marked by the maker on the back, but it is so faint as to be barely readable and we could certainly not get a clear photo, but we could decipher Kaiser, that is why we presume it to be German and c1890 judging by the style and excellent quality. It certainly warrants more research and could turn out to be a very rare and valuable piece indeed. This is part of the best estate we have handled in years. Hence, have an expected amount of wear from normal use. As such, returning an item because we failed to mention the tiniest bit of wear, or barely discernible flaw is not acceptable.
