A stunning deep blood red multi colored fine quality stained glass lamp.80's-early 90's.heavy thick glass lead soldered.in perfect condition.camera cannot show the deep red of the entire red areas.sensitive digital gets washed out and a lighter red results.this may be from the orient-no markings-may be from somewhere else looking at the glass thickness . this is not the common thin glassed chinese or tiawan shades with the resin base.looking at the lighted photos -overhead lights-one can see the heavier silver solder.the base is hand layed glass onto a metal base.dragonflys are enameled metal.three sockets.40 watt bulbs were enough to give it an exc look .60 watts was better and still deep blood red-bad for the digital.the seller guarantees a deep blood red color despite whatever these photos show.it's quite impressive and surprised me .the artistic merit is exceptional."even just one 60 watt bulb on- lighted the facing front of the shade with enough brightness and beauty the other two could be turned off saving power.each bulb has its own chain.22-1/2 high/ 8-1/2 wide base.16 wide shade x 8-1/2 high.40watt was used in pictures-too high still. .25 watts would produce a camera shot deeper red.even 7 watt bulbs are sufficient to give a good shot with digital.but to the eye its quite dull ,hardly lighted.60 watts will light up more of the middle.the area that is deep red is far more than the photos show.the whole bottom half is almost entiely deep blood red with enough light areas for artistic effect-again the light spots one sees here are actually deep red areas whited out due to the bulb being in that area-3 bulbs-camera is intensely sensitive to light -the canon 150.00 camera needs professional features and filters to make it look better-digital cameras except expensive pro. cameras are designed for simple low light conditions and outdoors-artificial glare,sun glare- they must compromise.thats all.you can't go by the underside photo for red color -the blood red colors in the shade -its designed into the thickness of the glass and the result of the density of the gold(24kt.) and other elements used to make deep red.this lamp is a perfectly designed extraordinary art piece in perfect glass condition.heavy shades are preferable always.with a metal base with a new padded felt bottom.very beautiful! bidding starts at 199.00,35.00 shipping,ins. partially crated by seller to protect glass from heavy boxes.its needed.safe delivery is insured.seller has continually shipped lrg. chandeliers and glass shades sucessfully worldwide.2 large boxes are used like gloves.don't let this pass you by.a truly awesome looking lamp. |
