Part One is The 19th Century in France with chapters on: Revolution, Ramonaticism, Ingres, Realism, The Salon at Mide-Century, Manet, Impressionism. Part Two covers The 19th Century Outside France with chapters on: Outside France 1800-1850, Outside France 1850-1900. Part Three is Transition with chapters on: Post-Impressionism: Its' Classicists, Post-Impressionism: It's Romantics. Part Four covers The 20th Century and has chapters on: Fauvism and Expressionism, Cubism and Abstract Art, Reactions against Abstratction. There is an Appendix and Index. The appendix has notes on modern architecture. There are 700 illustrations that are indexed in the front of the book and are listed alphabetically with page numbers listed to the side (a wonderful resource for finding the right painting quickly). NOTE: Most shipping carriers in December take longer due to the increased shipping volume. Please be sure to order early and pay promptly to avoid delays! We recommend insurance.
