RARE AND SUPER NOVELTY MECHANICAL SANTA CLAUS, FATHER CHRISTMAS POSTCARD. I BELIEVE THIS TYPE OF MECHANICAL IS CALLED A GATE CARD. WHEN YOU SLIDE THE THE LITTLE TAB AT THE BOTTOM DOWNWARD IT REVEALS A NEW SCENE. IN THIS CASE WE HAVE SANTA HOLDING A DECORATED CHRISTMAS TREE WITH A BURLAP BASKET OF TOYS ON HIS BACK. SLIDING THE TAB DOWN REVEALS A VERY HAPPY LITTLE GIRL WHO HAS RECEIVED A BEAUTIFUL DOLL AS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT. I HAVE INCLUDED CLOSEUP SCANS OF BOTH SANTA AND THE GIRL SO YOU CAN SEE THE TWO SLATS IN THE MIDDLE WHICH CONTROL THE IMAGE. UNUSED WITH DIVIDED BACK. NO PUBLISHER NOTED, BUT PRINTED IN GERMANY, SO MOST LIKELY PRE WORLD WAR I. CAPTION READS, A MERRY CHRISTMAS. CONDITION IS SUPER, JUST EXCELLENT, THE ONLY FLAW IF YOU WANT TO CALL IT THAT IS THE SLIGHTLY DARKENED PULL TAB, WHERE I AM ASSUMING OIL OFF PEOPLE'S FINGERS HAS OVER THE YEARS SLIGHTLY DARKENED THE TAB. A BEAUTY AND I BELIEVE MORE RARE THAN MAY HOLD TO THE LIGHT SANTA IMAGES.
