This rare hand-inked, hand-painted Color Model was used to create a limited-edition sericel entitled "Spotlight on Romance", featuring the beloved Disney characters, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. The scene shows the two reenacting the balcony scene from Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". Includes an attractive, painted background. A lovely piece of animation artwork from Disney!

Disney artists created this color model cel, which was then used as reference in the production of the 2,000 piece sericel edition, which was published in 2003.
The color model is an essential part of any sericel edition as it defines the number of colors, layout and design of the finished piece. Disney Ink & Paint artists at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California create these models using color keys and clean-up drawings, in order to accurately represent the animated characters and their setting. The models are then reviewed and approved before being used as the master for the sericel edition. As only two or three models are created for most sericel editions, one of which is archived with the publisher, these are very rare parts of the labor-intensive process that goes into each and every Walt Disney Animation Art sericel."
