RARE PFLUEGER KIHOGA SALTWATER SURF OR TROLLING REEL

Up for auction is this rare vintage Pflueger KIHOGA model Saltwater surf or trolling  reel.  This is a 250 yard size, with a diameter of about 3 1/4" and a width of about 2 3/4".  It's made of hard rubber and what appears to be German Silver metal components.  It has an unusual S-shaped dog that secures the handle screw in place. It operates very smoothly and has a strong click, and has very little, if any, excess side-to-side play in the spool and handle. Unfortunately, its cosmetics don't match its mechanical properties.  Other than a gentle scrubbing with warm soapy water, I have not attempted to clean the reel.  The pictures should show all of its flaws, with the worst problem being the corroded spool.  The hard rubber is undamaged, with the exception of a very tiny "pointer" type ding located about 1/4" above the front bottom screw on the left side.  I'm selling this for a friend, so I know very little about other than it was found at an antique car parts swap meet. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have and use the pictures to help guide your bidding.  Check my other listings to see if I have anything else of interest.  When possible, I will combine items to save you shipping costs.

Estimated shipping cost is $10.50, which includes insurance.   Please note that I'm trying a different way of charging the buyer shipping.   I always try to charge the actual cost of shipping, with no "handling" fees.  Sometimes, the estimate I provide in my listing description is more than what the actual cost is.  If the difference is greater than a dollar, I try to refund all or part of the overage.  Many times in the past I have under-estimate the costs and I have absorbed that as a loss.  I will now determine Actual costs when the auction closes and enter that amount into your invoice.  Because of that, please do not make payment until you have received my invoice.  Those of you closer to the east coast might actually pay less than estimated, while those of you west of the Mississippi might have to pay a small amount more.  (My estimates are usually geared toward the most distant possible destination.)
