RARE RARE 1820-30s FABULOUS EMPIRE ALSO FEDERAL SOFA

All we have to say here at Just Antiques For You is to CHECK OUT THE PHOTO'S ABOVE!!!  This 1820-30s, federal or considered empire sofa is absolutely breathtaking.  This is true to its time period.  We attended a local sale in Urbana, Ohio and this came out of an 1870-80s, victorian brick home that sold on this day as well.  WHAT IS FUN ABOUT THIS...........The contents of this home in the 1950s was complete and there were photo's of this as well.  This sofa was bought with the estate in the 1950s and again was a victorian brick homestead.  In other words, this federal sofa was used in this home for the past 60 years.  OK NOW...........we will speak and talk to you about this fabulous piece.  This particular 3 seater sofa is extremely rare.  We had a 2 seater about a year ago that ended up battling out on ebay in the last five minutes and sold for $6400!!!  This sofa is twice the quality etc. of the previous sofa.  When you pick this one up two men can barely move it.  It is extremely heavy and well made.  THE CARVINGS ARE ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING!!!!!  This has been recovered at one time many years ago in a salmon color.  It would be great to recover it in this color only maybe a tad darker.  The seat cover is removable as you can see in one of the above photo's.  The seat area is 71 1/2 inches wide x 22 inches front to back!!!!  The outside measurements are approximately 34 1/4 inches tall x 86 inches wide at the feet and is 25 inches front to back.  Speaking of the feet, they are absolutely outstanding claw and ball feet on the front and the back of this sofa.  See photo's.  Lets just say this.....It can set out in the middle of a room but many years ago when it was recovered they did not take the extra time or expense to recover the back in the same color.  So again it could sit out in the middle of a room.  The rest of this sofa has flame burl mahogany and WOW is it nice!!!!  Again, this is highly carved and would go and fit well in any high class Georgian or east coast home.
