RARE INDO PERSIAN TULWAR DAGGER / SHORT SWORD FROM TIBET Here is a very rare and unusual iron dagger /short sword. It is some sort of hybrid between an Indo-Persian Tulwar, a Patisa, and a Kindjal (the fuller). It was purchased in the town of Ali (Senge Khabab) in far western Tibet near the Indian border, from a family who had it in their possession for 200 hundred years. It is 100% IRON, and the blade appears to be watered or pattern-welded, but I have not, and will not clean or polish it to determine the exact form. The tight wavy pattern in the metal is especially visible for 1/3 of the blade, at the tip end (see last 2 pics). So it may be wootz, but needs a good polish and etch to reveal it more clearly. The very tip has the tiniest fold - the blade edges are a bit rough, but clean - no chips. This is a double edged blade, with 2 well executed fullers, one on each side. The piece is as solid as a rock, a fine piece of iron craftsmanship in a very rare form. An old, rare, top-drawer edged weapon.
