RARE STUNNING UZBEK SILK GOLDEN BROCADE ROBE SAMARKAND

Offered here is an Uzbek golden+silk brocade Robe from Samarkand. It is decorated with a trim- jiyak. The Robe is lined with natural cotton ornamented with bright pattern. The brocaded fabric is made of silk and golden threads. Beautiful pattern with the rich lotus motifs and golden brilliance. Very comfortable and elegant.

Brocade - a precious silk fabric known all over the world from the ancient times. Clothes made from brocade are worn during great holidays. Silk, gold and silver brocaded fabrics from Samarkand were exported in Europe, the Middle East, and even China. This fabric became known for beauty and extreme luxury. Gold sewing knew in ancient pre-Islamic Sogd (Sogdian lands were along the valley of the river Zaravshan with Samarkand as a centre, pre-8C). Arabs conquest of Central Asia mentioned abundance of gold clothes of Sogd nobility. In later times the historical sources mentioned high development of gold fabrics in Samarkand. So, the historian Melikho informed that there was even a block of such textile masters. But gradually this solar art has concentrated in Bukhara, which became capital of the Uzbek state in the sixteen century. Here gold-sewing received the right of official court art. So, during smart departures Emir (or king) and his family put on in gold from a head up to foots.
