VINTAGE 1981 FASHION JEANS BARBIE DOLL - RARE!
Welcome! You are looking at a lovely Fashion Jeans Barbie from the 1981 Barbie doll line. I cannot be positive about her identity since she did not come with her original outfit or hairstyle, but after carefully comparing notes with Marcie Melillo's Barbie book I think she is Fashion Jeans Barbie.

  • This Barbie doll has perky light blonde curls hanging loose down her back. Her peach-lipped smile and large two-tone blue eyes are on the 1976 "Superstar" face mold, and she is in excellent, played with condition.

  • Barbie is in great condition herself, with little to no wear to her painted make-up, bright blue eyes or very white skin tone (much like Angel Face Barbie). Please note that her blonde hair has not been cut and is no longer in its original hairstyle. The strands are a little bit flyaway, as seen in her close-up photo, but there are no major tangles, knots, or "fuzzy" hair. Her body has no apparent marks that I can see.

  • She is not wearing her original outfit, but a yellow dress with sheer arm gloves from the same time period. It has no marks or tears to the fabric and is in fabulous condition.

  • The doll's back reads 1966 Mattel Taiwan and the back of her head reads Mattel 1976. Her joints are all tight and she appears to have been very gently played with. I do caution that because this doll is used, do not expect perfection. This doll is listed AS-IS, because I cannot guarantee that I haven't missed something. Any further wear to her face or body is visible in the photographs below.

Overall, this appears to be an excellent Barbie doll to add to your Barbie collection or to create a one-of-a-kind display piece! Contact me if you have any questions or would like to see more photos. Thanks for looking and please check out my other auctions!
