This is a private auction due to the value and rarity of this book. I have had also had many bidders approached for fraudulent second chance offers. Please check my feedback if you have any reservations.
Up for auction today is an exceedingly scarce Australian Militay Manual: Manual of Horsemastership, Equitation and Driving from 1929. This is a First Edition Printing from 1929 - published by his Majesty's Stationary Office.
These were issued to Australian Light Horse Troopers and contain extensive training notes, drill instuctions and all other information required for the trooper to care for his horse.
Several plates are featured which are fascinating examples of early 1900's horse saddlery practices, etc.
This copy appears to be signed by H. J. Creedy, Command of the Army Council. To be clear: I am unsure if this is his personal signature or simply the way these books were issued. Perhaps he had signed each copy upon issue? Please examine the picture and ask any questions before bidding if this is a concern.
This manual is complete with all 268 pages. This is an excellent example of this scarce book as the condition is outstanding. There are a few pages with tiny markings (as pictured), some slight bumping on the binding, and some slight age spots as might be expected with an antique book. I mention these only in an effort of full disclosure as this is likely the best condition copy of this valuable book that you will ever see...
Copies of this book seem to be closely guarded by those whom they were originally issued to so this is a great find. I am unaware of any other copies currently available for sale worldwide.
Shipping will be FREE to the high bidder. I will ship to Australia via Global Express which will be expedited and fully insured. I will also ship to Canada and the US.
Good luck with your bidding and don't miss your chance to own this first class military manual!
