Hard to find as a set and hard to find period! This old set of German beer steins commemorates the highly adventurous President Theodore Roosevelt on one of his famous hunting safaris to Africa. High relief sculpted on the steins. The small ones measure 4-3/4" tall w/out the lid and are inscribed " 8/10 l." near handle. All the steins are inscribed "Germany" on the bottom. The tall tankard measures 10-1/4" w/out the lid and is inscribed " 1-1/2 l. " near the handle. The top of the stein is a sculpted lion. Look at the incredible relief of those animals and the African jungle!

 I see no cracks, or chips or hairlines or missing glaze. Just beautiful! Only the one stein needs the top reattached to the handle(looks like I could do it myself, just bend the metal around the handle, but I'll let the auction winner do that.
