What you see here is another one Vintage Martin Committee trumpet. This one is from the early 1960s era #217814 for only $1995 ! This is raw brass Martin which has been stripped from lacquer some time ago. This is the 3rd Martin I listed today on ebay and the youngest one and cheapest one. It`s in very good condition if you like raw brass finish. It is a medium bore horn but plays with more open feel I would say more towards ML bore possibly because bell is slightly larger than on other Martins medium I measured bell and it came to 4.75 inches from edge to edge where the sound comes out. I noticed on tiny ding on the side of bell pipe between 1st and 2nd valves. All photos vere made with flash . In real it looks more towards lacquered Martin except it is a shiny raw brass. Those dots I believe are leftovers from the when the horn was stripped. I don`t see any repairs on the bell.
Engraving is fully readable as you can see on photo. This trumpet plays very well. Valves have perfect compression and work very nice and smooth. There are no wear on pistons except one tiny dot which you can see in the 3rd piston just below the air hole. Compression is perfect as there is no air escaping anywhere when I blew to this horn and made a valves test. 3rd slide finger ring is not original but it`s very comfortable for the finger. Please examine all photos.
Horn is ready to play upon receipt. NO BRASS PATCHES ! Smooth and fast valves, all slides come out ( see photos )
Great addition to your horn collection if you are a player or a collector. DON`T MISS IT !
My price here is very reasonable. These days Martin Committee trumpets in questionable conditions requiring repairs or overhauls are selling on ebay for $1000+ dollars !
