Club La Pension is an intimate and charming resort surronded by the flavor of the old world, located at the edge of the French Quarter and two blocks away from the river that gave the city its birth. Club La Pension is conveniently located near most of the city's attractions, restaurants and shops as well as the historic St. Charles Avenue Streetcar line.
The oldest and most successful Vacation Ownership Resort in New Orleans, Club La Pension was developed in 1979 by John V. Santopadre, Sr. as a vacation ownership resort, and won many awards for renovation and preservation, as well as Resorts of Excellence awards from Resort Condominiums International and Interval International.
Club La Pension consists of six (6) historic buildings, which have been completely remodeled. The buildings which house Club La Pension have played a vital role in the city's history and commerce. One of the six buildings (Phase 1) is Canal Street's oldest existing building. Club La Pension also was home to a US Post office, and a portion of a slave quarter building can be viewed in the private dining area of Cafe Giovanni Restaurant. |
