RED SOX INFIELDER DALTON JONES & SON JULY 16, 1967







This is a very fun Boston Globe Staff/Danny Goshtigian Photo taken July 16, 1967.

Jones was a utility infielder, but he contributed several key hits to the Red Sox' "Impossible Dream" pennant of 1967. On September 18, in the heat of a tight four-team race, he hit a game-winning tenth inning homer at Tiger Stadium.

My Dad, a sports photographer, for the Boston Globe, had accumulated nearly 30 career awards for his sports pictures before retiring in 1976 with great honors.

I am offering,  (1) one 5" X 7", unframed, duplicate, black & white action photograph.

Dad would sometimes make one or two more larger prints as contest entries (he won nearly 30 career awards for this sports photos before retiring in the mid-1970s to great local fan-fare and media attention).
