In Memory of Sweets 1986-2005 He Was One Hell of a Cat

Another great shirt from Reyn Spooner! This one has fantastic graphics in gorgeous colors depicting scenes of vintage travelers arriving on Trans Pacific Airline's (now known as Aloha Airlines) Honolulu Clipper, a Boeing B-314 Flying Boat. The B-314 was the largest, most luxurious, longest ranged commercial flying boat. It literally spanned the world, crossing oceans and continents in a style still impressive today. From the late 1930's through the Second World War, these sky giants set a standard unequalled to this day. The aircraft first flew on June 7, 1938. A total of 12 aircraft were built of which, the last one was retired in 1951. "The B 314 flight, coast to Honolulu could take only 25 passengers and to make the flight on full tanks, the cruise airspeed started out at 118 knots (long range cruise) and finished at 125 knots approx at 5000 feet - and flight time was 17 hours. Those were the good old days." From Dave Bridges - 314 Co-pilot for two years flying SFO - HNL. There's also an illustration showing a Martin M130, The Hawaiian Clipper.

About the shirt: It buttons ALL THE WAY DOWN the front with coconut colored buttons, has a breast pocket (perfectly aligned of course), no side slits/vents. Over the breast pocket is very nicely EMBROIDERED in red "Silver Oak Summer Release 2000" which I believe refers to Silver Oak wine. It's a bit hard to see because of the colorful print behind it.

The maker tag shows "Reyn Spooner Hawaiian Traditionals". The care tag shows it is "100% Spun Rayon (Machine Wash/Line Dry), Tailored in Hawaii of Imported Fabric", and that it is size Small. Here are some measurements to help you decide (laying flat):

Hint: Lay out one of your favorite fitting shirts and compare

From the top of the shoulder to the bottom edge = 27" long
From side seam to side seam across the pits = 22 (or 44" around)
And the same across the bottom

This pre-owned shirt is in EXCELLENT condition. No stains or other boo-boos. Someone will love adding this one to their arsenal of special Hawaiian shirts. Would make a great gift for the aviation buff.
