These RFI EMI snap-on ferrite suppressor choke cores can be used for reduction or elimination of radio frequency interference from such sources as AM or FM radio stations, Ham and Amateur radio, CB radio, flourescent lights, electric motors, switching power supplies, computers, etc.
The best way to use these is to clamp them to each and every wire entering and leaving the equipment that is being interferred with or (if possible)  the equipment that is generating the interference. Snap on chokes should be used very close to the equipment (wrap wire near equipment). Also to be installed on speaker wire close to speakers. Not all interference comes through the wires, sometimes it enters the equipment directly. Interference can only be reduced or eliminated if it arrives through wires entering or leaving equipment being interferred with. Each additional wrap of wire is like adding another choke. Multiple chokes are often necessary to reduce or eliminate interference. Use trial and error method to see which wires are receiving the interference and snap these chokes on those wires.
These interference suppressor cores are reusable. Made by TDK, inside hole size is 0.5" which is a loose fit for RG-8 type coaxial cable

Suggested uses

• Church PA public address systems

• snaps on speaker wires,  modem wires, coaxial cable, telephone wires, microphone cable, computer sound card wires, keyboard or mouse wires, remote control head wires (especially IC-706, FT-100, etc)

• snaps on ALARM panel wires (this works especially good but you should run ALL of the alarm panel wires through chokes), I use multiple chokes here. 

• Audio video cables, microphone preamps, guitar amplifiers, PA system, Hi Fi,

• Fluorescent light noise, switching power supply noise.

• For tough cases and maximum interference reduction wrap as many turns as possible and use multiple chokes

• BALUN or RF choke for Ham (amateur) Radio, snap multiple chokes (as per Phil Salas, AD5X tests)
