A fine, double page , wood engraved illustration published in the well known Victorian periodical, "The illustrated London News" 1865 and entitled,

" PANORAMA OF RICHMOND VIRGINIA, AFTER ITS CAPTURE BY THE FEDERALS " .

 

Verso is a short piece of  text describing the scene and some unrelated text providing a fascinating insight into Victorian life .

Light overall age toning and a tiny worm hole otherwise fine condition. The original centrefold has been reinforced verso at either extreme end.

Measuring approx. 20" x 14"( 510mm x 360mm) printed area only with  margins beyond.
