This camera is NOT in the camera books. It is a ROCHESTER 4X5 DETECTIVE Wood Vintage Box Camera. It is a cross between the Poco (c.1899) and the Handy (c.1892). Wood has been professioanlly restored adn finished with Tung Oil. Brass turning know moves the internal bellows and lens forward. Inside is a large clear lens. Original leather handle is intact. Beautiful brass hardware. Large finders looks great. The shutter works working, and now is sluggish. It will need some servicing/cleaning. Just cleaning I'm sure. I've sen many of these shutters and this one works freely, just needs a little TLC. Read door is original and connected with fabric tape as it originally was. This camera has a dark red stain interior. Original rear focusing glass is intact. There are notches in the sides to place it closer to the door. The glass plate holder is original and it has 2 glass plates inside! WOW!!! Beautiful wood grain. It measures 10 1/2 inches long X 7 inches tall X 5 1/2 inches wide!!! WOW! A great rare camera. It is MUSEUM QUALITY! Enjoy.
