PLS. READ BEFORE BIDDING!!
Up for bid is the "Vintage" ROLAND JUNO-106 POLYPHONIC SYNTHESIZER in good cosmetic condition. It comes w/ the power cord. There are some functional issues (sounds like "chip problem"). I have sold more than 4 juno-106 in the past and these are very common. WELCOME TO THE JUNO-106 CLUB! I SHIP FAST & ITEM WILL BE WELL PACK. MY FEEDBACK SCORE STATES IT ALL.
*sound or patches with long sustain gets stuck (for ex. "string sounds). Sounds already "sustain" once you press the patch, even before playing a note
*DCO PWM slider function is missing (none functional)
*SUB & NOISE SLIDER cap are MISSING (still functional)
*Patch #1 button takes a little effort in order to engage
*VCF Freq "cuts off" when level is below 4, "sustains" above 4
*cosmetic issues-scratches/dents/scuffs due to aged and used.
*UNIQUE IN A WAY- the bank & patch buttons are green instead of the normal blue. (check picture #8)
Most of the sounds were modified by the previous owner- a lot of science effects/industrial/spacey type sounds. Good programing though
DUE TO THE NATURE AND AGE OF THE KEYBOARD- SALE IS FINAL. Your bid means that you agree to all terms & conditions. If you have a question, pls ask.
from vintage synth explorer site:
The Juno-106 is a very common and widely used analog synth. It continues to be one of the most popular analog synths due to its great sound and easy programmability. It uses the same synth engine as the Juno-60 but adds extensive MIDI control. There is also increased patch memory storage with 128 patches instead of 56. It's also commonly said that the Juno-60 sounds "punchier" than the 106 because the 60 had the ability to modulate osc. pulse from an envelope.
The Juno-106 a six voice polyphonic and programable analog synth with one digitally controlled oscillator per voice. While classic monophonic synths used two or three oscillators to create a fatter sound, the Juno-106 uses built-in chorus to fatten up the sound. There is an excellent 24dB/oct analog lowpass filter with plenty of resonance and self-oscillating possibilities and a non-resonant highpass. The programable pitch/mod bender can control the DCO pitch, VCF cutoff, and LFO amount all at once or individually. JUNO-60 JUNO-6 JUNO JUPITER 8 MOOG SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS ARP OBERHEIM YAMAHA KORG MKS
The Juno-106 is the first MIDI equipped Juno and its implementation is very good. There are 16 MIDI channels available and MIDI SysEx data can be transmitted/received for all the sliders and buttons for total remote control and sequencing. This synth is very straight-forward and very powerful. Use it to generate lush pads, filter sweeps, and funky bass lines and leads.
The Juno-106 is one of the most loved and used synthesizers by professionals and hobbyists alike! William Ørbit, Uberzone, Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), Autechre, BT, Vince Clarke, Moby, 808 State, Underworld, Leftfield, Fluke, Josh Wink, Todd Terry, Depeche Mode, Eat Static, Biosphere, The Prodigy, The Shamen, Bushflange, Cirrus, Astral Projection, Apollo 440, Faithless, Union Jack, Computer Controlled, Pet Shop Boys, Sneaker Pimps, Erasure, Freddy Fresh, Rabbit in the Moon, Kevin Saunderson, Jimmy Edgar, Laurent Garnier, Vangelis, and the Chemical Brothers have used this synth extensively! It belongs in your studio!
