Presented for sale is a stunning gentlemans' 9 carat solid gold Rolex Tudor wristwatch in excellent overall condition and dating to the mid1960's. The case and newly restored dial look great and the freshly oiled and adjusted movement is running perfectly and keeping time. The crystal has recently been replaced and a new leather strap has just been fitted so this fabulous watch is ready for immediate use. You will not come across a solid gold Rolex Tudor watch in this condition very often, and unusually it has no personal engraving, so do not miss the opportunity to buy this great timepiece. The dial is in mint condition having just been expertly restored to look as new. It has a satin silver finish and is signed "Tudor Shock Resistant" together with the Tudor Rose. Raised gold coloured Arabic numerals and batons mark the hours. The crystal has recently been replaced and is pretty much scratch free. The gleaming 9 carat solid gold case is in very good condition indeed with hardly a mark on it. Please note there is no personal presentation engraving on the rear cover which is unusual as most of these watches were given as presentation watches to mark a special occasion such as long service awards. Measuring approximately 34 mm across excluding the crown and 39 mm from lug to lug, it is a larger case compared to those normally found from this period; most are mid size. The inside of the rear cover is hallmarked for 9 carat gold with a London Assay which dates the watch to 1965. Rolex and Rolex Tudor watches from the 1950s/60s as well as Lonfines and Omega were very often cased in the UK with the movements exported by Rolex from Switzerland. The British casemakers were usually either ALD (Dennison) or as with this watch DS&S. The 17 jewel Tudor signed manual movement has just been professionally oiled and adjusted so it is running perfectly and keeping time. It is beautifully crisp and clean and looks to have been properly maintained over the years. The watch is fitted with a new generic brown leather strap.
