ROLEX VINTAGE DAYTONA CHRONOGRAPH 6265 18K 1971

Here is an early production reference 6265 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in solid 18k yellow gold. The watch is 100% original and given its production at the very start of the 6265 model in 1971, as rare as it is beautiful. A solid 18k gold vintage Rolex Cosmograph is a beautiful thing to own, and if your experience resembles my own, it will make you happy every day that you put in on your wrist (which, incidentally, my wife could not understand until she started wearing one!).

Original case is solid 18k gold with dimensions of 37mm diameter by 13.9mm thick. Engraved "Units per Hour" bezel with scale from '50' to '200' has its original sharp edge. Screw down crown and round pump style chronograph pushers are all working perfectly. Chronograph hands reset crisply and accurately to zero. Crystal is domed acrylic. Case is in mint original condition and does not appear to have ever been polished. Case back has some light marks from the bracelet resting against it. Overall I grade the case as mint to mint plus (mint plus if not for the light marks on the back).

Serial number 3752XXX dates production to 1971/72. Inside case back is stamped '6265' and the serial number is also engraved on the inside of the case back (and matches the watch).

Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and adjusted to 3 positions. Caliber features column wheel construction and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is winding smoothly and running well. Movement is in pristine condition.

Original dial is gold with sunburst brush finish (very light) and contrasting black subdials for the chronograph 30 minute and 12 hour totalizers. Hands are also original. Hands and dial are perfect condition.

Bracelet is an 18k Rolex riveted Oyster with 13 links. Bracelet shows light marks on the polished inner section of the links, but it has zero stretch and is a light polish away from being new old stock.

This is a great vintage Rolex and will be a treasured possession for whomever is fortunate enough to acquire it.
