ROLEX VINTAGE OYSTER PERPETUAL DATEJUST WATCH - 14K GOLD & SS A True Classic - International Warranty - Fabulous Condition

|
The Premier Sports Watch - A True Classic - Original - Pie Pan Dial - Fabulous Condition
For nearly a century, Rolex watches have been the benchmark for high-grade timepieces, setting the bar through their precision timekeeping and desirability. They are a favorite of CEO's, professional athletes, Hollywood celebrities, and anyone desiring to wear a truly elite wristwatch and are recognized around the world as one of the finest and most expensive watches money can buy.
Today's auction features an exceptional Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust encased in 14K gold and stainless steel. Featuring clean lines and a sharp look, this watch embodies Rolex's timeless class. To us, when it comes to affordable elegance and sporty refinement, special vintage Datejusts, particularly the so-called "pie-pan" dial models from the late '60's into the '70's, can't be beat.
As precise as it is classic, our gem is powered by the renowned Caliber 1570 movement, the mechanism that powered many of the early Submariner, Explorer, and GMT models.
Here are a few of the features that earned this watch its place among Rolex's fine timepieces.
- Oyster case crafted from a single block of stainless steel. This process originally insured that watch was impervious to water to a depth of 100m.
- Advanced self-winding movement, officially certified by the Swiss watch governing body (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) as chronometer, the highest distinction awarded to a movement based on its accuracy.
- Rolex Twinlock screw down crown for enhanced water resistance
- Extra-hard acrylic crystal with 'cyclops' lens for easy reading of the date at just a glance
- Elegant 14K solid gold fluted bezel
- Very classic and rare 100% original champagne linen "pie-pan" concave dial with baton indexes
- Fabulous condition showing only light wear
We were fortunate to acquire our Rolex in such wonderfully well-preserved condition, indicative of a watch worn with a careful appreciation for its quality and value. The watertight Oyster case is in great condition. The beautiful textured dial is flawless and 100% original; the chronometer movement is clean and running strong.
Our master watchmaker has cleaned and oiled the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any worn parts, reassembling and lubricating it, replacement of the waterproofing seals with new, geunine Rolex gaskets, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $550 value). The watch continues to keep time very accurate time, running within a few seconds per day.
Included with the purchase is a full one-year international warranty, a timing certificate attesting to its performance, and a certificate of authenticity.
Note: A published example of a this model can be found in Osvaldo Patrizzi's work Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches, 2001 Edition, Guido Mondani editor, Vol. 2, pg. 37.
