ROLEX VINTAGE "RED" SUBMARINER 1680 STEEL 1972

Vintage Submariners are beautiful watches. The acrylic crystal on the reference 1680s casts a warm hue on the dial, and this effect is amplified when the markers and hands present a nice, even patina. Such is the case with this 1680, which is enhanced with the red 'Submariner' text.

This all original Red Submariner is a great looking watch - maybe the nicest looking of all vintage Subs.

Original case is stainless steel and in great condition with fat lugs. Dimensions are 40mm diameter by 15mm thick. High sitting acrylic crystal with cyclops. Original bezel. Crown screws down and operates perfectly. Case number is: 3319XXX, which dates the watch to 1972 production.

Original dial has even and matching patina on the hour markers, bezel pearl and hands - all of which are original.

Original movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels, adjusted to temperature and 5 positions. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.

As I have said many times before, in my opinion the Rolex 15XX calibers are the best-ever serial production automatic calibers from any manufacture.

The Oyster bracelet (reference 93150) has ten links and is in excellent condition.
