Item specifics
Type: Real Photo PostcardTheme: Michigan
This an a great early RPPC that was mailed and is postmarked 1909 from "Coffey, Michigan". Some research tells me that Coffey Michigan and "Coffey Corners", were major lumbering regions, so this card is "right on spot" for what they were doing in Coffey at this point in time. Just by chance. I read about the postmaster for Coffey, a William M Coffey, starting as postmaster in Nov. 1899, with the post office closing, Sept, 1909, then he reopened later on for few more years with it being closed permanently in Dec. 1916. So this postmark would be rarer postmark as it so rural and with the post office opened sporadic years and for a relatively short total period of time. It is a plus that this card retains the original stamp and that postmark. This card was pasted in an album, so has glue remnants on the back and some faint glue marks on the front, and some over roughness to the condition. So in that sense, this card is "as found". So please keep that in mind when bidding and the scans are pretty accurate and should help the viewer determine what they think of this card overall as well as the condition. With that all said, I think that this is a nice, clean, clear, surviving image ' This postcard is very clear and in that way has a "professional" look, but where it was taken suggests to me that this was made by a good amateur photographer. This card was probably made for private family use and suggests to me that it rare, it may even be unique at this point in time. Chances are that if you would like a vintage example of this card, especially anytime soon, you will likely need to get it here. I am pleased ot offer this historic old view for consideration. I tend to like the old, unusual, scarce and possibly unique items. If this is your interest also, then check out my other listings.

I do combine your winning auctions to save you money on shipping costs. Let me know if you want insurance.

I do give "frequent flyers" breaks.

I DO NOT sell to Poland or Spain. The mail is too slow and complaints are too high, mail delivery rates have been 1-2 months!. Postcards are shipped in cardboard and rigid plastic sleeves to protect from damage, I DO NOT profit from postage.

The postage cost for outside the US is $3.00 for postcards in the rigid protector. Please inquire regarding postage rates for other items outside of the US.

Thanks, Bob, Roger

The scans are pretty accurate. Check them carefully. What you see is what I see, so the need for returns should be neglibible.
