Since train travel was so popular in the late 1800's, reference was made to "carrying her railway rug".

This was an accessory to hold a blank to keep milady cozy during chilly train rides.

It is a lovely item to make to accessorize your lady doll, and the instruction are clear and it is fully illustrated.
