OK, several years ago I had a collection of Spin College Radio shows. They were fabulous and when I sold them so I could buy some other shows that I needed for my collection, they went like bullets. Anyone who knows alternative and indie rock and/or went to college in the past 10 years probably knows about the weekly Spin College Radio shows. They were weekly shows , each show ran 30 minutes and each silver backed CD had two shows. You get a full hour of music on each CD. The show is so popular on college campusses that it attracts the top national advertisers like ESPN and Mountain Dew for example both products which appeal to young adults. And, the music is out of this world. Many of the artists will be familiar to you and some you may never have heard of or might never hear of again but the music , for a music lover, is great and important in the history of our culture. Even many of the labels these artists record for will be unknown to you - they are not mainstream! For example you've got Matador Records, Freedom In Exile Records, Magic Marker Records, Popsmear Records, Animal World Records, and more. These are genuine collector's items that you will treasure and which will increase in value as these shows, especially the quality shows, disappear from the market place or become too expensive to afford. Since most shows are now not distributed to stations on CD, these too will soon vanish. As long as I have them, I will sell them for as reasonable a price as I can, even given the almost 20% of every purchase that our dear Uncles EBay and Paypal keep for their very own. The show comes on 1 CDs , one hour (two half hour shows), and in pristine condition and with their cue sheets in excellent condition. These guys were likely only played on the day they aired and then were stored away by enterprising dj's who either wanted to keep them for their collection or knew that they were going to be worth some big bucks later on down the road. While I have gotten a few shows here and there over the years from other sources, the bulk of my shows come from one person. Believe me, they are in super fine shape. This show is Fall 2004, Volume 10, Shows 1 and 2. Each show featured the both the top and the upcoming artists in alternative and indie rock. You will hear a total of 12 tunes over the one hour CD. Here the tunes on these two shows: On the first show, Guided By Voices - Never Gonna Have To Die, The Hives - Two Timing Touch and Broken Bones, The Vibration - Sweet Oil, Beta Band - Out Side, Loretta Lynn - Portland Oregon, Willy Mason - Live It Up, Comets On Fire - Pussy Footin The Duke, Jesse Sykes/Sweet Hereafter - You Are Not Gotten Here, and Guided By Voices - Girls of Wild Strawberries And, on the second show, The Chinese Stars - Love, Pidgeon - The Second One, Sonic Youth - Pattern Recognition, AC Newman - Miracle Drug, Eleni Mandell - Easy On YOur Way Out, Black Cat Music - Jet Trash, The Fall - Totally Wired, Frausdots - Extremists, and x Ecutioners - Live from the PJs. WOW!!!!! This is the genuine original show that was sent to the college radio station for airing. It is NOT an unauthorized copy but the Real McCoy!!! I personally guarantee that every radio show that I sell is the original show sent to stations. Each show comes from my personal collection of thousands of radio shows of every genre. Stations could use the show anytime during that weekend and then were to return it to the network or destroy it. Of course, many dj's didn't want to destroy such great material (and maybe wanted to make a few bucks as well!) and that is how it ends up available to us all to enjoy. I don't know if I would describe this show as ultra rare , but I know that there are not too many floating around. In fact, when they are on eBay they tend to get bought quickly. You are truly buying a show that will only increase in value and I am selling them at a price very close to what I paid for it. It just doesn't get much better than that, music fans!!!! The show comes with its original national commercials including Chevy Colorado. Remember that this and all the radio music shows that you see on eBay are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio and music history. You just aren't going to find these shows around very much longer as everything becomes digitalized and downloaded for play and shows are no longer sent out on CD's. (This has already occured with most radio show series.) Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price. I am saving those shows I treasure the most and sharing the rest with you for very reasonable prices. Those I do not sell, I will just keep! It is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection. As always, for U.S. buyers, I charge only shipping on the first show you buy so the more you buy the more money you will save. For my international friends, I will significantly discount shipping on more than one purchase. Good Luck and God Bless You.
