A great find for those who love the type of needlework (crochet) our grandmothers and
great grandmothers loved to do for home decoration and comfort! (Original is
not for sale)
Our new line of Spiral Bound Book Republications oh-so-conveniently lie flat while in use!
This is a unbelievably nice touch if you have every tried to read a pattern's instructions while your hands are full of your in progress project. As an avid needleworker myself my personal experience prompted my choice of spiral binding for it's ease-of-use alone. I bet you'll love it too!
This item is a great resource for those who are Depression era historical reenactment enthusiasts, students of historical clothing, fiber and textile arts, etc!
The body
of this work will be in b/w. However, the front cover and a collage page of the
rugs will be in full color to assist in your creative endeavors.
Our customers

binding and easy to read pages."

An
excerpt:
"The art of
floor covering has developed through the ages so that the various classes of
rugs carry messages from ancient to modern civilization. Each period brought its
creation so that we have many varieties of handmade rugs from patchwork, the
earliest, to the crocheted rug, the latest contribution to floor coveringss and
this, several centuries old.
Crocheted rugs
have the best wearing properties and are most rapidly made. They are made either
in one unit or in several and then assembled. When making the final crochet
stitch the rug is complete. Requires no binding or lining.
The matching of
decorations in rooms is always considered by the woman of artistic taste.
Matching the bedroom linens, window draperies and coverings, are generally
considered first for harmony in color and design. On the pages following,
suggestions are offered for matching the floor covering with the patchwork
quilts. Many other creations along this line can be produced, but those
submitted will give an idea as to the possibilities of matching bed and floor
coverings..."
