Paint Quality
Ratings
Pro-Painted: High detail, usually hand shaded and highlighted, painted, based and
flocked to the standards of a display piece. 99% of the stuff listed on
EBay as Pro-Painted is NO WHERE close to what the term actually means. Vikinglodge Studios on EBay is about the closest
I’ve seen to someone that puts this quality out regularly. You
won’t see us use the term unless something really deserves it.
Usually between 4-20+ hours of labor is put into a Pro-Painted piece.
Above Average Tabletop Quality: Medium detail, usually using a wash
and dry brushing technique for highlights and shading. Always based and
flocked. Some free hand may be used. Most of our player type d&d
characters are painted in this fashion. Usually between 1-5 hours of labor
is put into this piece.
Average Tabletop Quality: Low-Medium detail, usually having some
shading or highlighting done, Always based and
sometimes flocked. Some painting oversight may be noticeable, finer details
lacking. Most group armies and monster armies and multiples are painted in
this fashion. Usually about 2 hours or less per piece
depending on the scale and casting.
Quick Tabletop Quality: Low detail, may not have shading or
highlights. Always based, usually not flocked. Painting errors may be very
noticeable, No fine details are painted. Usually about 1
hour or less per miniature.
Raw Quality: Unpainted, or needs stripping and re-painting before
use on the tabletop.
