Up for bid is a very lightly used Rancilio Silvia espresso machine. I have always used lever machines for my espresso and just do not use this enough to warrant keeping it. I currently use a Gaggia Achille which I am thrilled with as my main machine. The previous owner bought it new in 2006 (the same year it was made) and barely used it either. Not because anything is wrong mind you, it just happens that this machine has not had an owner who used it a lot. It works fabulously. I have gone over the machine inside and out, and gave it a thorough cleaning to sell it.
Here is a video I recorded on 10-31-09 to post on here for the auction... if a pictures says 1000 words, I hope this video tells you millions. I apologize for not pulling a "proper" shot, but I was under a time crunch to get this on here for you...
It truly is a fantastic machine, and in great shape. I tried to get the pictures to show it in it's absolutely real-life condition but I fell short... there are some very light usage marks on the top cup warmer surface, I wouldn't call them scratches, but they are there, if you look hard you can see them, but not in the pictures. The rest of the body is tip-top beautiful. To bring this to brand new showroom condition, all that I would suggest would be to replace the dispersion screen and group seal, although the current ones are still perfectly fine. The kits for this can be found for around 20 dollars. If you'd like me to replace these for you before shipping let me know and I can order one for you and add it to the purchase price. Although it really is super easy for you to do, just need a screwdriver.
The portafilter looks great although you can tell it's not new, same as the basket. Just look at the pictures, maybe I'm being overly critical as I usually am.
Please note: I will ship the machine with it's main components (i.e. water container, drip tray, tray cover) owner's manual and one portafilter, one double basket, the original plastic tamper that these come with and a coffee scoop. Nothing else.
Please ask if you have any questions!
Thanks!

New Link for Video
Sorry everyone, the folks hosting the video on the link above have a very low cap for bandwith... I didn't think so many people would be watching it... here goes the same video hosted at another provider which should not have a cap... Thanks again!
