Rare 1939 Bersagliere Soldier/Soldato Lenci Mascot Doll


Description:
Beautiful and exceedingly rare Lenci or Lenci Type cabinet-size doll depicting a very sweet Bersagliere soldier.

This rare doll has brown surprised side-glancing eyes, black high raised eyebrows with long painted eyelashes and a small red open/closed mouth, dark brown felt "hair" and hard-stuffed torso and legs and soft stuffed arms.

He comes dressed in his complete and elaborate factory original green felt Bersagliere (Italian soldier) uniform with light gray shirt, black rayon tie, brown felt boots and black felt hat with dark brown iridescent feathers.

Unmarked, but probably made in Italy by Lenci, circa 1939. 

Dimensions:

7-½ inches (19 cm) height including hat.

 

Condition:

All original and complete doll. Quite clean and free of odors. Somewhat faded uniform and very slightly soiled face. Otherwise, very fine to excellent overall condition.

 

     He comes from a smoke-free environment.
 

Absolutely stunning and very hard to find doll, would make an impressive addition to any Lenci, Cloth doll or Militaria collection!!!
