I have been working on getting this collection for about 6 months now .It is from a very large collection from Europe. There is over 600 figural metal match holders and some lighters in total and the collection will sell over a total of about 2 years. The majority I will sell right here on eBay , some will go into my collection and some duplicates will be sent to live auctions.Tonight I am listing 8 match holders and this outstanding lighter. so please view them all if you are a collector.Wow , what to say about this lighter , it has everything going for it.He is the Devil with his horns poping out and that sinister grin.My favorite part is the base with the hooves. The back of the head tilts back on a hinge and that is where you would put your fuel in.There is a removable cap that goes over his pipe.Total hight is aprox. 10 inches. If you collect these type of pillar lighters , this is a must. Can you just see this on one of those early cigar store counters lighting the customers cigars ?****PLEASE DO NOT PAY UNTIL AFTER THE FINAL INVOICE IS SENT AS INSURANCE WILL BE ADDED TO THE TOTAL ****INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING IS FINE AND WILL BE AT ACTUAL COST INSURED WITH NO MARK UP .I am always looking to buy rare figural metal match holders , single pieces or entire collections.Always interested in trading. If you have a unusual piece , please let me know.

Questions and answers about this item

Q: Your lighter appears to be in 3 attached parts - base, column and bust... Am I seeing that correctly? Are these sections screwed together rather than one single piece? Thks
A: From what I can tell , it was originaly made out of 3 pieces. There is a large nut on the bottom .I would not think it would have been possible to cast this in one piece with all the detail.I have seen some lighters with claws... Continue reading

A: This has no damage , repairs or cracks. It has a very nice worn patina. It is just as I recieved it out of a large collection of match holders and lighters. It is my understanding lighters like these were made in the 1860,s to... Continue reading
