Circa: 1903.    Up for auction is truly a rare find indeed. You guessed It, I located this in a large warehouse of a very old clock collector who collected clocks that were extremely rare and valueable. Some of his clocks I have sold for many thousands of dollars each and many I have kept and sold to my loyal e-bay customer over the past year.

This is a Ingraham Enameled Wood case clock called the "Ruby", for the unique red Faux Marbleing on the top and bottom. In over 99% of these clocks the marbleing is usually that boring green color, and some times you see red moldings but never entire red top and base and black cases. This is the first one of these I have ever seen by any clock company.

Clock is a eight day time and strike clock on the hours on a delightful sounding rich Coil Gong, and then it strikes the half hours on crisp sounding large bell. It is has been professionally oiled and cleaned and it runs like the wind. I do not guarantee clocks running anymore due to shipping , but this is sweetheart. Clock has the original finish and even had gold highlights throughout this case many of it remains. I have never seen the real gold highlights before.

Some one has poorly touch up the imitation gold trimmings but all of it can be removed by  means of a damp cloth. All imitation gold ornamates are original, and there are many on this clock. None are broken or repaired especially the feet. The dial is signed and has just minor wear around winding holes very normal for these clocks. The Bezel is the optional heavy Rococo stlye and with brass insert dial very high end for this clock and not standard orderd.

The movement is signed Ingraham company and dated 2-1903, So we know exactly when this clock was made. It also has great repair label inside back cover  which says oiled and cleaned and repair of verge in 1928 for a cost of $2.25, imagine that today. The back is in great condition and even the original dust cover remains. How nice is that feature.

A point worth mentioning this clock has a unique feature that only Ingraham mantels offer. A way to hang the pendulum without taking back off and sticking your hand in back of case, It has a cut away on bottom to gently lift case away from mantel put pendulum and hang on clock. It also has a means of adjusting the time in front of dial with a small wheel you turn.

This feautre is worth it's weight in gold, as  all other companies, a key has to be stuck into the dial and turned to the left or right to adjust the time. They have never, ever worked right. Also the clock has to taken off the mantel case to get at pendulum to adjust it. None of this has to be with ingraham mantels. They are considered the easiest to adjust and make run properly. I have adjusted it already for you. You may after time have to make a brief adjustment after a few years, before cleaning is required again.

Clock stands over 11 and 3/4 inches tall by 11 and 3/4 wide and is listed in the Tran Duy Ly book on page 198 clock number 582. It's value in 1998 was over $245.00 and that was over 11 years ago. I am offering this beauty with no reserve, and some one will walk away with a real beauty. This is considered a perfect starter clock for the novice collector, Ingraham collector and expert as well. I guarantee not many own this rare model.

If you are going to buy a Mantle clock do not buy a common model or even green color version they are not worth nothing really. Stay with the rare clocks like this one. How many of these have you seen recently in this condition.? A perfect gift for the home or office settings, and it of course will go great on mantels as well. Clock could be cleaned up to look almost brand new, but I never touch original clocks or there finishes, that is up to you, I would leave it as you see it.

A real nice clock for your new or remolded home and will look great in whatever room you add her too. Remember, the holidays are right around the corner and those fall weddings as well. As a antique clock still remains in the all time five top gifts to give at weddings, or as engagments presents, because they have indured the test of time. Just like a great marriage should. Enjoy.

Seller's payment instructions
All sales are final and sometimes they may need minor adjustment due to shipping, usually not. I am proud of my packing, but damage sometimes happens. That is the responsibility of the buyer. I will assist and help all I can. I also charge for postage only and insurance, never any other fees, and dislike sellers who profit by shipping charges. I will not accept returns for any reason because of shipping damage, that is what insurance is for.
