Jack and The Beanstalk tree grows to a usual height of 30 feet and up to 45 feet. It prefers rich, well-drained soil and adequate moisture but can be remarkably adaptable. The tree grows in full sun or light shade and will tolerate light frost .

Jack and The Beanstalk tree will grow in climates from cool temperate to tropical and are grown widely in Europe and Japan as indoor plants, where their fast early growth and attractive glossy leaves make them a decorative feature for homes and offices. They can be kept trimmed at any height.

They are widely planted as shade trees in parks and gardens, along the east coast of Australia and have a non invasive root system, which makes them suitable for street planting. They can also be grown in patio containers.

Indoor Plants
The Jack and The Beanstalk tree is widely used as an indoor plant, particularly in USA, Europe, and Japan. Either as a single plant in a pot, or multiple seeded pots in both homes and offices where the fast growing seedlings display attractive dark green, glossy leaves.

Bonsai
Shiny dark green leaves and dense foliage make this the perfect specimen for a bonsai collection. It is amazingly tolerant in indoor locations, does not drop it's leave and will thrive despite low humidity and negletful waterings.

Landscaping
The Jack and The Beanstalk tree is commonly used as an attractive wind break tree. It is also extensively used as a streetscape tree, and along highways because of its non-invasive root system. They also make beautiful feature shade trees in parks and gardens. They can also be grown in Patio containers.

Timber
The wood of the Jack and The Beanstalk tree is one of Australia's most attractive and prized cabinet timbers. The heartwood ranges from dark brown, to chocolate shades deepening almost to black, sometimes streaked with lighter coloured bands. It is a moderately hard timber but machines and turns well to a smooth finish and polishes beautifully.

Medicinal Qualities
It is interesting to note, that chemicals isolated from this tree have demonstrated anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral and HIV suppressive actions.
