 Reproduction Levi's Vintage 1947 501XX jean, marked 38 x 40 (but hemmed to 34). This particular style is regarded as the definitive 5 pocket jean. A timeless regular fit, standard rise, regular thigh (not loose), completely straight leg to hem. Button-fly, with copper rivets made from Cone Mills deep tone dry red selvage indigo denim.
Many key features of Levi jeans were removed during the war to save vital metal and fabric. Re-appearing on this style in 1947, the stitched arcuate returned to the 2 back pockets, as did the original zinc buttons. This was also the year belt loops and copper rivets became standard. These particular pair are in mint condition, never even washed. They have also been professionally hemmed to 34”. Measurements are 19” Waist, and 34” Inseam (crotch to cuff).
